Ok

Alrighty people. I just got back from the gym and I have a few things I need to change about my goals. I just read a story in my Parents magazine about a lady who overdid it with her exercising after her baby was born (she was way too extreme about it) and her baby was failing to thrive until she cut back on the exercising and dieting (she was breastfeeding).

I decided it's too early in my baby's life to cut out too many calories. Like I said before, I don't want to risk diminishing or losing my milk supply, so until she is older and not nursing quite so around-the-clock, I am not going to concentrate on losing pounds. I'm not going to try to get to a certain weight just yet. My goals will become a little more broad, but more healthy for my little nursling.

  • Avoid treats (this includes candy, brownies, cake, pie, ice cream, cookies, etc)
  • Limit processed foods
  • Eat more fruits and veggies
  • Exercise regularly at a normal intensity level
  • Drink lots of water (yesterday I drank a whole gallon)

So that's it. I'm removing my weight loss ticker from my blog. I'll put it back up when Hannah is 5 or 6 months old. If you see me in the same clothes all the time, it's because most of my stuff is for a differently shaped bod and nothing really fits right now!

It's not like you won't lose any weight anyway by not dieting, you are nursing and that's really the best way to lose weight!

I agree. I only have ten more pounds to lose, and I've exercised all of one time. Of course I need to do better, but you are definitely doing great!!

BAH! It's been nearly TWO years for me! I'm just now gearing myself up mentally to start some kind of exercise program to shed the last few pounds. I'm only sharing this in case you find yourself in my shoes two years from now! :) LOL!! You'll know you're not the only one...
